My Most Successful Season!!

This was definitely my most memorable season. No, I did not shoot a quote "Trophy Buck" nor did I get my limit for the season. What made this my best year yet were the times that I spent with my son. It was his year. We started off by making a couple hunts in our favorite spots in Red Dirt but to no avail. It wasn't until I brought him to his "Papaís" lease in Texas that I found out what this kid could do. Shooting a little H&R 7mm-08 with the new managed recoil loads from Remington, he dropped the hammer on three deer. If anyone out there is looking for a deer rifle for their kid I highly recommend this combination. It is a little heavy but a good set of shooting sticks should take care of that problem. Anyway, the joy that I had when I seen his excitement was immeasurable. Iím sure those of you that have experienced this know exactly what Iím talking about. It is a feeling that Iíll never forget. If there is anyone that has ever thought about introducing a child to the outdoors, do it, you wonít regret it.

Congrats to you and your son Dion. No truer words were ever spoken. We need to do our very best in getting our children involved in the sport we love so much. They are our future to keep it going. When we get old, we will start reaping the dividends of our investment.

After that experience, you will never care if YOU shoot another deer again.

I can't wait to get my grandkids started. I will probably hunt with a camera then and let them do all the shooting.
