Heading West

Posted August 21st, 2010 at 10:09 AM by David Jones

I will be heading west next week. I will get into Rawlings, Wyoming next Friday. I will help my brother with his NWTF banquet on Sat. before heading to Odgen, Utah. I'll be on a pipeline project in the mountains of North Utah towards Idaho. I have found an outfitter in Idaho to hunt whitetails. I will be hunting with LOCKEY OUTFITTERS in Utah. This hunt requires a 2 hr. horseback ride into the backcountry to hunt the whitetails. It is a 100% hunt for whitetails 130-180 class. I am looking forward to this hunt. I also talked to a friend that I worked with here in Ark. He is from Vernal, Utah and he wants me to get an elk tag to take out an Utah elk with him. It would be either a cow or spike bull tag. I am going to focus on my Idaho hunt. I can't wait to get in those mountains. My brother sees bull moose and elk almost daily. I'll be rolling in during the holidays to hunt my club and family property.
