Wildlife Photography

Last November I purchased myself a new digital SLR Camera after months of looking at awesome wildlife photos on the internet. I wanted to be able to capture all the things as outdoors men we see and enjoy when we take to the woods. But boy was in for a shock when I started trying to decipher all the bells and whistles of my new camera. My first trip to the woods with new camera in hand turned out to be pretty a great learning experience for an amateur photographer. I was able to get some shots of a few white tail deer, some juvenile white ibis and a Louisiana black bear. Not too bad for my first outing. Since then I’ve got better at taken full control of the camera settings and getting some pretty good pictures. So this blog is a calling to any photographer amateur or professional who might be interested in sharing tips, tricks and advice to inspiring photographers.

My Current Equipment:
Canon EOS 50D Body
Canon EF 300mm F4 L IS
Canon EF 70 – 300mm F4 – 5.6 USM IS
Canon EF 28 – 135mm F3.5 – 5.6 USM IS
Canon Extender EF 1.4x II
A cheap monopod and tripod (hoping to purchase a good tripod in the next few months)

I don't know if this is going to work but I'm attaching a link to my Google Web album.

You have some good looking pics in you portfolio. Were most of those taken on the refuge?

I also enjoy photography. I have a camera in hand whenever in or near the outdoors. I enjoyed seeing those pictures very much.

I have a lot more mistakes then I have tricks. I take a lot of pictures to come out with a few nice ones. My cameras are the cheaper models that use automatic settings.

Hi big Al. I like your photo's. I have a question. How do you copywrite your photo's with your name on them. I also use a canon with a 300mm lens to photograph wildlife. I've been real lucky to be in some great places to photograph wildlife. I have a wildlife section on my profile. I might post my photo's on the site a you have. It's great to see wildlife in it's natural state. Have fun and remember to always keep the camera at hand. You never know when that million $$ shot will show up.
