Video to go with my new Louisiana Sportsman article on benefits setting trail cameras in video mode. over 170 differernt LA public land racked bucks from the many WMA's i hunt 100% video mode, with some cool effects added in and several cool scenes of other LA animals in action. 100s of buck clips didn't even make the cut and didn't bother with any pictures to keep this constantly action packed.

yes I set most cameras on the community scrape with a lick branch above. some cameras get over a dozen different bucks whereas cams set anywhere else usually only have 2-4 bucks. article comes out next week discussing the numerous benefits but by far the #1 is seeing all the bucks picture mode misses. big bucks at the end of a bachelor pack, but mostly its rut action where the buck is missed. When does trip the camera and the buck that is following slowly or chasing is often missed. Years ago I seen a chase happen in front my camera twice on the same hunt. Just a spike chasing a doe but the 1st pass the deer were running not all that fast with buck just seconds behind. Later in the hunt the doe walked through slowly feeding and the buck walked behind the deer several seconds later. I was sure I'd have some great photos but after the hunt only had a blank set of photos then a set of doe only feeding photos. After that hunt I started using video mode more often since those photos showed me zero evidence of the rut on that date at that spot. Just remember video start from trigger trip time is often slow on some brands so testing is needed.
