Default Sydney's first Buck/ BOW

As a dad teaching my children to hunt, it's always a great pleasure when they make great achievement. Sydney has been shooting a bow since she was 12 years old. She has placed many times in 3D shoots and is a great student. When she graduated from high school I told her I would get her Illnois tags. Well here we are. Illnois during the rut for 2 weeks. She wasn't happy with the 16f temps, but the deer were moving. First hunt she had a 2 year old 8 at 12 yds. The. Came a 4 point. Saw 4 more deer with no shooter. We climbed down and went to the camp. The next hunt was something I'll never forget. We got in the stand at 2:00pm. The wind changed and was SW @ 15. Not a good wind for this stand. So I told her we had time and we were going to make the best of it. Had a doe wind us OT 15 min after we settled in. After about an hour we saw a small buck chasing a doe, came by grunting his butt off. She said hey I never heard a buck grunting like that. Then 30 min. Later saw 3 does coming up wind. She told me she wanted a doe, well it's her hunt and if she wants a doe so be it. The doe came in at 10yds. She drew her bow and I guess the arrow wasn't knocked good and the arrow fell off the string. She let down and the doe never heard. She was about to draw again when I looked behind me. Here comes a shooter I said wait!! She never knew what was coming. When the buck got close I said draw cause it's going to. Be fast. The buck came I. Hot after the doe and I said, maaaah! Stopped him at 15yds. She let the arrow go. Hit him back a little but he was quarting away and the shot was perfect. He went 30 yds stopped, stumbled 10 more then did the chicken flip. Yahoo! I was so fired up I can't explain. It. She was happy but it happened so fast she didn't realize whT she shot. A 3.5-4 year old. We got down and went to the buck. When she walked up and saw how big the smile I'll never forget came out. The buck weighed 267 lbs and was a trophy in her and my eyes. This is a hunt that will be in my heart till the day I die. As I sit her I. This tree thinking about this hunt I have tears of joy. Thank you lord for blessing me and my family.
