First you are going to have to find out tag availability as in what state if any sells over the counter tags for Muley's anymore. I hunted Colorado for many years and it used to be over the counter for deer but i think it is now draw only including residents..dont quote me on that but i think it is. I know the deadline for the colorado draw was in March/April i believe...but there may be some leftover tags? Lots of public land in Colorado and had many successful trips there on DIY hunts.

Including residents?!?! Wow! It would suck to have to draw a deer tag in LA. Could you imagine not being able to hunt some years cause you didn't get drawn?

went seveal years ago on blm land northwest of rifle, Colorado. we both took 4x4's but nothing big. don't forget the gun control laws they passed in their legislature....I would look elsewhere myself. more states than Colorado have muley's....including texas. seems like the draw was for non-resident only but check the wildlife regs. to be sure.

LOL yep actually have to draw to hunt as a resident. My friends up there had told me that but i think they have enough land they can actually apply and get landowner tags to use for the season's. Non land owners have to go through the lottery same as a Non-resident.

If you can get drawn & are in excellent shape, Gunnison, Colorado. It doesn't have big #'s but it has big racks!!!
