I hunt with father in law, brother in law and a few other people on the Attakapas. Father-in-law has a camp close to the Attakapas. I have been hunting the state land and the attakapas for about 7 years now. I killed a ten pointer on the attakapas 3 years ago. Really awesome for a first deer. Haven't had any luck the last three years. I saw quite a few deer and hogs on the attakapas this year. I wouldn't hunt anywhere else though . I love it out there even if I don't kill. The camp is about a 25 min. boat ride from Myette Point.

I have hunted there all my life and will continue! Love it! Get the hip boots and the pirogue. Let's get them where they live in the back water!

No place on earth like Attakapas,Ive been hunting the island for about 24 years.Ill say there is no place on earth taht id rather hunt,in fact I now live in alabana, for 2 1/2 years now,for hunting season I drive the 6 1/2 hours back home to hunt the swamp often thru the season. No water in the woods in Bama,it just aint right here...Attakapas is the place to be!!!
Yall may have seen my houseboat ay Myette point,in the cove on the left, when leaving the landing, its the teal colored one. Many fun nights there,as well as fun days in the woods!!!

I was born and raised on the levee at Myette Point. I will be looking for ya at your camp and will stop by if I see someone home.
My camp is in the schute at Taylors point. The one on the barge with the white metal on the sides. Stop by if your in the neighborhood.
