Yea your right. I usually put one on anyway. Just want to give everyone a heads up. If this passes I'm sure they'll be looking to right a few tickets.

Gotta make that money. I just hope they put an end to the dog season in KNF. Had my hunt screwed up more than once this year.....I'm tired of it.

I hunt private land and only bow hunt but I wear orange on the ground during gun season.

I don't like to wear orange if I am bowhunter period. This is why those bow only days are so special to me. I don't have to be worried about being shot from some person who should not be shooting at me anyway.

I put on at least my Orange cap! I don't want anyone throwing some lead my way!!!
I think it might be a good idea, at least wear it to your stand, then go camo!!

I don't care for it very much but it is a rule I will obey. Not a big deal as long as I don't have to wear it in the tree while bow hunting. Maybe we should paint the box stands blaze orange so we would have to hang something out all four windows.

Only one question. If someone is going to shoot at a box stand do you thing orange is going to stop them?

I just read it again. It seems that during firearm season I will have to wear hunters orange in a tree. Now I am against it. I can see the use on public land but I hunt private land. Everyone knows what stand everyone is in and everyone hunts with a bow for most of the year.

Not a good rule for bow hunters.

I agree with Professor T. I am by no means an expert...but I have been hunting for many, many moons. I have never shot at anything That I did not know what it was. Yeah saftey is a good thing, a very good thing. But common sense is even better. Maybe the orange is not the problem lets look beyond that maybe hunters should have to be screened before getting a hunting license with a COMMON SENSE test. I mean it is so easy to get a hunting license at your local WALMART. But try to do something over the phone dealing with a cell phone it takes and act of Congress and they not doing so well lately either. Okay Im done venting you guys have a nice day.

Default bowhunters orange cap

Greetings gents and ladies,

I don't mean to but in, though I have hunted here LA and lived in other states that require hunters orange to and from the stand without gun season on. The reason to my understanding is that other seasons besides gun deer or also going on. In KY where I last lived, I hunted a bow only WMA for deer and had small game seasons with gun going on at the same time. The requirement was hunters orange to and from the stand with orange optional on the stand. Been a few years back near Shreveport, had a friend shot by a 15 year old kid squirrel hunting said thought the bow-hunter was a squirrel. Also, been at JB WMA in Jackson parish and had poachers walk under me with a rifle and no hunters orange now I was scared, if me or him definitely him. I can't fly like a squirrel out of tree or least don't want to. So, I guess depends on the who is in the britches (AKA common sense). Good Hunting and be safe.
