Default High winds

How do yall think the high winds will effect the deer this weekend? Do you hunt ridgetops or bottoms on days with high winds? I know the winds swirl in the bottoms alot pushing scent everywhere but if they are starting to rut does the wind matter as much?

I don't like the wind unless hunting ducks. But I want to be in the hills Sunday on top of a ridge or no more than 10 yds from the crest. I've never went into those bottoms during season I figure there's enough human scent floating around without me adding to it. I hope the bucks are running wild this weekend.

Haha me to. I figure with the hunters in the woods and the does in heat the bucks will be moving. Perfect camping weather lol. Wish it would snow

you can read up about it, but they say that if the wind is hitting the ridge at a 90 degree angle, it creates a wind tunnel on the downwind side of the ridge. Supposedly, the thermals rising up the ridge in the morning meet up with the wind blowing over the ridge and it swirls. Supposedly bucks travel in these tunnels which are about 1/4 down from the top to scent check for does. supposedly you can get high enough above it to have your scent blow over the tunnel. Its a big topic for the big hill hunters in the northeast.
