Default What makes a good Tradition Bow?

Okay guys so a co-worker of mine just bought a Tradition bow. He doesn't hunt, I am still trying to figure out what is wrong with him, however he just wants to learn how to shot a tradition bow as a hobby. So after talking about compound bows and tradition bows he asked the question, "What makes a good tradition bow?" Well, since I don't know much about tradition bows, you think you guys could help me out with this one, thanks!

All trad bows are good, but finding the one that's good for you is more like looking for a needle in a haystack. In compounds you have about 10 top names & each has about 5 different models so roughly 50 bows to shoot to find a "good" one for you. In trad ya got ALOT more bows to try to find the one!!!!

GRABWAD is so right about the arrow, but when it comes to the bow you really dont know until you shoot it! Its kinda like shouldering a shotgun it a sporting goods store. You know when it feels good in your hand, shoulders good and you dont have to adjust you face up and down to look down the barrell. The same is true with a traditional bow. The grip feels right, the draw is smooth and most importantly it shoots where you are looking! No two traditional bows are exactly the same, even the same make and model!

What about the material the bow is made from, does that have an impact?

What makes a good traditional Bow?.....A good Traditional Bowyer of course! Yea I know....Smart Azze!

Get a bow that feels good in your hand and be sure to get an arrow that is spined to shoot where you are looking. Get an experienced person to help you set the bow up. Not a lot of moving parts to fool with on a traditional bow but the do need to be tuned for your style of shooting. Good Luck.

Trad bows are all made a lil different,,, It really depends on how it feels to the shooter!!

No hard rule to follow ,, except one that the MASTER once told me,,, and I quote,," it's two sticks and a string, Don't complicate it".

What I heard in my head... Keep it simple stupid!!!
