Not sure of the distance but Lake Darbonne state park 65 campsites is right outside of Farmerville. Maybe #2 can give you more information if he chimes in.

You may not need to know anymore, but it's probably about a 20 minute or so drive from the state park to union WMA. That's approximate but I think that should be close.

I talked to some guys and they said its usually a slaughter out there but the pressure is horrible the first few weekends and they lay em down. They said its not what it used to be

I talked to one of the guys that worked that was there for the opening weekend and he said it wasn't a slaughter this year. They only killed 25 or so for the weekend which is about half the normal openin weekend kill and had considerably less hunters than they usually do on opening weekend. Now they may have whacked them after that but opening weekend he said they didn't hurt the herd bad at all. He got that 25 number from the guys that were working the weigh station. The habitat is different than it used to be so no doubt it's not the same. Plenty of deer but so much pine thicket makes hunting hard. Cover everywhere.

Man I just saw this. I wouldn't have known but I would've tried to find out for you had I realized this post was here. Little late now I suppose.
