Default no hog traps on red river

received a call this morning from ldwf that they were returning my $5.00 fee for my application for lottery hog trap on r.yancey wma.. due to the fact that the lottery hog trapping was cancelled..there would be no hog trap permits issued on r yancey due to further evaluation..

The head honchos probably figured they would be better off shoot in em all at night themselves and either leaving them to rot or keeping the hogs for themselves. We gotta remember that the things they do are in our best interest.

Yep, I got the call yesterday and I just told them to refund my money. Forgot to ask why it wasn't going to be allowed, but I figured they might not know anyway. Having said that, I don't know why they are allowing it on RR; that place is slap full of hogs. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until October to let that 17 HMR sing.

Sounds like a big wig somewhere, has a brother-in-law they will contract out, at an obnoxious rate, with little success!!

I don't know why they just don't entertain the thought of allowing a special hog season to take place or at least extend the season (past 28Feb) for hogs only. Are they afraid someone might shoot a deer or bear? That could happen during any part of the season!!!!!!!!!!
