I've been hunting IB since bow season opened in October. I recently noticed A-LOT of new flagging hanging in the trees (every 5 feet) so spill the beans and let us know if you are seeing any sign of pre-rut.

By admitting flagging, one could give themselves a ticket, since it is illegal to do so in there.

Besides being illegal. Every 5 foot they must be lost.

Let me clarify by saying that I am not looking for someone to incriminate themselves. Not a lot of people talk about IB on this forum so I'm just trying to see if anyone is having luck this year.

No, it's not happening here yet. This weather and moon may help get some bucks to start showing their areas. 2 weeks ago I walked out the woods with 2 pockets full of flagging. You could see the stand from the P/L and he had 18" flags every 5-10'. I pulled them all down. 2 days later it was flagged again. I thought it may have been a joke but ran into the guy and he was tying more to a different spot. He said he likes to make trails to trees he can climb (not deer sign). Mention it was against corps regs and he just shrugged it off because he doesn't use a GPS. BTW his flagging was white. I'm sure the deer enjoy seeing white flags blowing in the wind all the way to his bow stand.

1st station had white flagging and so did the 3rd station last year. Long strips about every 5-10 feet. People still do it regardless of the fact that it's not legal there. My issue is that they flag half the woods.

Yep, I grew up hunting here and rarely use a GPS much less flagging. That's the same areas I was in. The deer sign is very scarce this year there. I am actually hunting other property because its so slow. Maybe after bucks only and primative ES ill be back but this year it looks rough.

Yeah I don't go in there until the guns are out. Should be a better late season with the high water but keep hearing of hardly any sign. I'll be waiting in my tee come late Jan and early feb.

Used to hunt with a guy like that, no sense of direction and scared to death of getting lost. Always liked to stay within sight of his bike or the road but tied tons of flagging anyway.
