Default Anybody hunting Pearl on here for hog?

If anybody has been hunting here recently, is anybody seeing any hogs and/or have any advice on where to look for them? I have only been a few times, saw lots of sign, but never came across any. I used to hunt quite a bit in Sherburne WMA before I relocated here, and I would find many hogs in blackberry thickets out there. I assume they sleep in cover during the day here too, but never came across anything suitable in my few trips so far. Just looking for any hog updates or advice you are willing to share, even vague tidbits. Thanks!

I've been out most weekends this season. I've seen hogs almost every time, from right off of the trails to 2+ miles deep, walking off the roads or kayaking in. My best luck has been afternoon hunts. They seem to wake up from their afternoon nap between 2-4 o'clock. They'll hold longer if its real cold. Work the wind and make sure to stop and listen when you're in an area of heavy briars. I've gotten as close a 5 yards before they break from cover and run. There are some bigun's in there too. I've been seeing mud rubs over 3' tall.

Read the regulations carefully. Sometimes they are other times they are not

OK, thanks for the encouraging information. Sounds like they behave very similar to Sherburne and have a large population at Pearl. I'll be trying my luck this weekend with a friend new to hunting (but not shooting) and hopefully we can get into some. I would rather hunt native game myself, but hog hunting is a pretty exciting on a day when they are active or you can find them. Thanks again, and if we get something(s) I'll post a pic.

Well...got skunked. Walked from dawn till dusk through the thickest brier patches we could find, and we never boosted anything that we could tell. Lots of recent sign, but we didn't come across any and I don't think they were very active. Waterfowl shotgunning in the morning probably didn't help the hogs feel any safer out in the woods, but a good hike nonetheless.
