Default Timber Duck Hunting

I'm doing a north Texas duck hunt next week with my kids. I have the option to hunt out of a blind or hunt in the timber for some mallards. I've never hunted timber before. Just hunting in Delacroix in the marsch. Anyone ever timber hunted before? If so, should I choose that style hunting since I've never done it before? Seems like a easier shot for my kids because of the ducks flying down into the timber compared to teal flying across your blind at 100mph in the marsch. Lol

If the greenheads are really in the area, definitely go with the timber hunt.

Not saying this to deter you from hunting flooded timber, but you said north Texas... keep in mind depending on area of north Texas, most of that region doesn’t have the flooded timber we have. It would still be a good experience though.
