Hog proofing?

Anyone have any experience with putting a pen around a corn feeder so deer can get in but hogs cant? I know its done in texas alot but looking to do this in north Louisiana. Do the deer still use it as much or would it shy them away?

Never tried that, one year we used troughs for a feeder but the pigs ended up getting inside of it and were laying in the feed like it was a hotel

Thought about a trough but would have to drive drill pipe to keep them from pushing it over. Gonna be hard to keep them out even with cattle panel im sure.

We quit using feeders now we barely see them, what parish you In?

We near Olla. Hogs are terrible. When the pressure is on during deer season they disappear but I soon as no one is there they bed under my feeder.

3'-4' hog panel with T-Posts is what we use in TX. Also what I use behind my house in South LA., works in both locations.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking to try. Might set one up this spring so they get used to it.

My buddy uses this at bird camp in boyce. Works great but a pain in the *** to put up. Deer are not afraid of it and can access the feeders without any problem. Sets feeder in desired spot, draws out desired radius and hammers in rebar and ties hog paneling to it. Easy concept, just do it on a cool day or bring ALOT of beer!
