White squirrel
Hunting in yancey this morning when I thought a saw a Deers white tail on my way out. Turned out to be a solid white squirrel. Didn't have time to get a pic. Question is this do you all think he will move far by mardi gras? I am hoping to get a shot at him after deer season. I marked it on my gps and intend to put some time in chasing him or her. First one I have ever seen and would love to put it on the wall

I saw what at first I thought was a WalMart bag blowing thru the woods
I'm like wth?
Closer it got I realized it's a squirrel!
Wifey whips out her phone and starts talking pictures
Sends a picture back to the people at the camp and their like Shoot it!
I tell wifey it gets a pass today since all we had was .243 and a .308
No sense in blowing the poor thing up.

I saw one years ago while hunting around Bernice. My uncle had seen him earlier and told me about him. I was deer hunting in an area my uncle had hunted. He went in and got him and had him mounted. They will stay in that area.

Boy I bet he stuck out this time of year, LOL.
I used to hunt near Olney, Illinois, the home of the white squirrel... here's one I had near me...

pm me his location and i will go check on him and report to you if he is still hanging around, hahaha
i have a nice fat black squirrel i am debating on mounting, not sure if i want to spend the $150-$300, but if i were to kill a white one it would be no questions on the wall

I have no clue if he'd stick around. I'd go hunt that spot asap. I wish I'd see a white one. Another guy I know is hunting a white one on private land and has seen it years in a row so maybe the do hang around the same spots. I'm mounting a black one I shot stalking with my compound bow earlier this season. I can't wait to get it mounted since the guy messed up the 1st one I shot with my compound a few years back.

I too have a black one to mount. Jet black no hints of red in it. I think a mount with both the black and the white would be cool as well as non discriminating. Any one know a good squirrel taxidermist around Thibodeaux and Houma?? Let me know. I have seen some messed up squirrel mounts from guys who do great work on deer and ducks
