Spring squirrel hunt

Planning on making a hunt next weekend. Not sure if I should use my 12 gauge 3" automatic or 22lr. What gun and ammo would u recommend to squirrel hunt and also to shoot some hogs?

A good opportunity to shoot some hogs; we plan on going as well. If the .22LR is Semi-Auto, go with something hot, like CCI Mini-Mag.
Otherwise, I would go w/ the Shotgun; I believe BB is largest legal shot size for Small Game; Hornady makes it for coyote.

I plan on being out there with my Grandson see if we can get a few bushy tails and maybe a hog if the Good Lord says the same.

Bought 2 Gas Cartridges for our Thermocells today; we'll have a couple smoking.

That wet ground will help creep on those piggies.

I shot a running group of small hogs three times last year with those Hornady Coyote BB loads. Didn't stop a single one. Finally finished one hiding in the briars point blank and found six pellets in him from the previous shots.

I think my choke was just a bit too tight (.672) Seems that wad likes a bit more open choke than that. I think I'm using the 17 this time.

Check the package they call for an open choke because of the wad used. I patterned at 30 yards on a paper plate. Full choke had 6 hits modified 11 and Improved cylinder had 24. If you have an open choke try that one out. Dead coyote T shot work better but are over twice the price

Thanks buckedup. I just ordered the improved cylinder for my 500 from Midway. Hopefully it'll get here by this weekend and I can pattern it first.
