I have an extinguisher grunt call. I like it cause of the different sounds it makes. Every now and then I still blow the Dirty Lil Doe grunt call.

I had a lohman grunt tube about 25 years ago and managed to call in a 1&1/2 year old spike buck once. I gave it away and never missed it.

I think one grunt call is about as good as the other. I think I have a Primos Hardwoods grunter or something. I have had a decent amount of luck with them over the years. But I am not much on deer hunting, and maybe they were coming that way anyhow. Although, there have been several times when I saw a deer, grunted, and they came. And a couple of times, I have actually turned them around to come back.

I've been having an adjustable primos grunt call for IDK how long. I killed a buck in Kentucky with my bow that came in to the call bowed up and ready to fight with that grunt call. I believe that was in 2009. I know I had it before that trip so its older than that. I called in and killed two bucks with that same call this year. Like everything else it only works that perfect time. I use it often without success but when it works it keeps my confidence in it.

Default Not much luck with a grunt call

I called in one spike years ago. That is the only buck ever to respond to my call in 36 years of hunting. I can get them to look my way repeatedly, but when they are far out of bow range that does me no good. Just last week I had a nice 8 point at 80 yards and then a 6 point at the same distance 30 minute later. Each of them looked to see where the noise was coming from but neither took even one step in my direction.

Lot's of good ones on the market, and to me they all sound about the same and sound like an actual buck grunting, at least in my experience in bucks I have actually heard doing it.
I would say whichever grunt call has the most volume, while retaining good sound. If they can't hear it, they can't investigate it.
