Default Charter tuna trips

Myself and a few of my friends are considering a chartered tuna trip sometime in late-April or in May. I've checked with a few of the ones who advertise but good God they charge an arm and a leg! I know a fishing trip is one of those things where you get what you pay for but there's no way I'm going to pay $650 + tips per person for a 6 man trip.

Can anyone recommend a captain that is a little more reasonable on prices? We're willing to leave out of anywhere in southeast LA or even southwest MS.

Thanks for any input.

I've done about a dozen or so trips with Scott at Paradise Outfitters. Think about an overnight trip, they are the best. Them Tuna turn on at night! Scott 504 451 7579. He's out of Venice

Deep South Charters. Captain Josh Howard works hard to put you on the fish. Had a good time this weekend with him as our captain. The cost was 2 grand and that was with fuel. We fished 6 out of his boat. I hope this helped

I do a good bit of offshore fishing, and had the pleasure of being around some great captains. They are all around the same prices. You should check with Eddie Burger, he is out of venice. Great captain and Ive never seen him come back without fish.

Every captain will have bad days, let's just hope we always pick the days the captain is having a good day when we all pay for a trip. Never forget though a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.

I've heard nothing but good things about Capt. Josh. I know a bunch of guys that use him often and they ALWAYS catch fish and have an awesome time.
