Default Going to Uncle Earls

I went to Uncle Earls Hog Baying Competition last year and had a great time. The only thing bad was I couldn't 't stay long enough. This year I plan to watch a lot more.

Anybody else going?

Everybody better watch their speed going from Alexandria/Pineville to Winnfield. It's 55 through Creola, 45 through Bentley, and 35 through Dry Prong with the construction going on. Other than those places you can let it eat! Speaking of eating, the new Choctaw Pines Casino in Creola has some got food on the buffet. They say the seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights is better than Marksville. I haven't tried it. I run over there for lunch from time to time during the work week.

I went Friday and watched the first 40 runs. My SIL and his friend did a little shopping at some of the vendors and did a lot of talking about dogs. I stayed on the bleachers the entire time and watched the show. I had a great time and will try to attend next year again.

I heard some idiots showed up with catch dogs. Must have been trying to sell them or pups off of them. I know several years ago, someone donated a bunch of hogs for the event and was pissed when some got their ears chewed off by catch dogs.

Yrs ago we went to a couple catch dog trials. They cut the pigs ears off before it started. I hear all that go shutdown. And I can see why.

I saw two sets of dogs catch and they were disqualified immediately. The guys working the pen were on top of the dogs and hog right away. One of the pairs of dogs bayed for a while before catching and the other pair were obviously catch dogs. They caught within a few seconds.

I heard about the pair that went on a straight line and caught right away. What was the owner thinking?
