Default Anyone film their own hunts?

I don't want to film my entire hunt, just basically want to get deer and/or kill shots on video. Been looking at the GoPro and the Contour camera's. The Contour looks like it can easily be attached to the underside of the gun barrel, where you can just turn it on as soon as you see the deer. I think the GoPro may be a little better quality camera but not sure how to mount it to the gun. Just wondering if anyone else has done this.

GoPro can mount to the scope (top or side mount) and to the lock ring of a shot gun (top or side also). I have no experience with the contour but I've mounted and filmed with a GoPro in plenty hunts and situations.

Looks like the GoPro comes with several different mounting attachments. In order to mount it to the gun/scope, does one of these attachments work or do you have to use some ingenuity?

I will be this year, I have 8 go pro cams, should be pretty cool to test out angles, like out in the field hopefully the shooter walks in from of it while an arrow goes thru him

how long does the batt. last on the go pros?

They also have a mount for your phone now to your scope and you can look at your phone to target and shoot instead of through your scope. I'm going with the GoPro this year as well.

I've also been considering a GoPro for all my various year round activities. Simply because almost all the mounting challenges have been solved. And the new ones have wifi, and iphone app control, pretty nice!

Do they have an external microphone you can plug into a gopro yet to enhance the sound?

Yeah, from what I've read and seen on youtube, the GoPro appears to be a good camera for my needs. However, all the reviews do mention that the audio is subpar. Not too worried about the audio I guess, as long as I can get the video I'm happy.
