Default What kind of fish is this

I work on the shrimp boat with my pops during the summer and we have caught couple of these recently but you only catch them in a certain type of grass that comes from offshore. If someone could tell me what type of fish this is or if someone knows anyone who would know, I would appreciate it. Click image for larger version

Pulled up many a trawl in my early years and never saw one of those. Looks like the alien from the predator movies.

Idk but I wouldn't be holding it... I'd take it home and use it for bait on my jug lines. Lol

What's the rule of thumb for diving. If it looks pretty or is colorful. Don't touch it. It will probably kill you. That's a cool looking fish. I've seen them before in our bait trawls back in the day. I'd always kick em back in with the trash fish. Never knew a name though

That's a really cool looking fish. Makes you realize how much is really out there that normally goes unseen.

I call em' Frogfish. I've caught one in a trawl just north of Fourchon.
This is what I found online:
The sargassum fish, anglerfish, or frog fish, Histrio histrio, is a frogfish of the family Antennariidae, the only species in its genus. It lives among Sargassum seaweed which floats in subtropical oceans. The scientific name comes from the Latin histrio meaning a stage-player or actor, and refers to the fish's feeding behaviour.
