Default Tensas

Ok guys...I normally hunt Bayou Cocodrie but want to venture to Tensas for the first time. I will be tent camping and walking in. Curious if I could get some leads on where to start scouting so I am not going in totally blind. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Been thinking the same thing! But I have been holding back due to the fact I've never been before... We hunted Beouf when I was younger but that's my extent of northeast la public land hunting.

Nothing wrong with Boeuf. It has been at least 20 years since I have more than passed through on HWY 4. We would hunt the rifle weekends around thanksgiving. At 7 years old I wasn't much of a bow hunter! Now I am looking to expand my bow hunting options.
My Grandma lives pretty much right in between Biglake and Boeuf on hwy 128 in Jigger. I have heard stories all of my life about my Grandpa hunting Biglake and the old Chicago Mills Land. He also hunted Copenhagen some. He grew up in Jigger and as a boy hunted what is now boeuf and around little turkey creek. My grandpa passed away when I was 2 and most of our hunting is done in Caldwell parish west of Columbia.
Wouldn't mind checking out the areas that he hunted religiously!!

Better find you a camp ground to camp in. No camping on Tensas.

Not to worry guys....a Bayou Bucks member has made contact and seems like all is well with a place to hunt and a place to camp. I will leave it at that....
