Limited Use Septic Tanks
Anybody familiar with Limited Use septic tanks, legal for Louisiana Camps ?
Cost ? How Big ? The Franklin Parish health unit rep says most people bury them without hiring a backhoe. I dunno bout that ? Maybe rent a mini escavator from Winnsboro ? Any rent-a- machine places in Winnsboro ?

Lamp i looked into one before and you dont even have to bury it it just has to be level. When i was looking they were about 1200 dollars and would run on 110 vac. . But if you want to bury it Kipers in winnsboro has a little rubber track mini excavator they rent but i dont know how much it cost.

Thanks for the Kiper's info. Will keep that in mind. I have power now, but I am pro rated on another meter. Some turbulance is occuring, and I am just weighing options. $1200 huh. Ok . I can do that, permits, electric meter pan, conduit, inspections, etc. And when I jump ship one day, I guess I just bought Street a tank.

If you go to kipers the meter pans are free if you know who gives you power and what amperage it will be. Dont go buy one. The power companys give them to them to insure you get the right stuff and they dont charge for that. as far as inspections, unless alot has changed the meter guy will do your inspection, if you have your wire in conduit where it comes out of the box and goes in the ground from the breaker box you should be good.
You have to remember we are a long way from a major city some of that stuff we dont have to do. as far as permits go, if you have your building permit and a septic permit that should be all you need. Unless a bunch has changed in the last couple of years.

If you are getting a septic permit you may have to get a building permit. If you already have a septic permit you should be good.
Yes kipers has the meter boxes from them for free. that is the same power company i have.
If you already have power there they might just hook you up without having to get anything except for the electric stuff cause you already have power. Hmmmmm..

You might want to search previous threads as there have been many on this subject. I got "schooled" on this a couple of years ago. Not sure how strict your local Health inspector is but ours is definetly a company man.
Go to:
modad.com (Denham Springs-thats where I bought mine)
or
houseboatoutlet.com (Lafayette)
You'll have to buy the State certified tags (for around $120) for the unit.
