We have a bow and muzzle loader club, with about 600 acrs to hunt in Allen parish. It is surrounded by gun clubs so it make it a little hard to compete, but it is a challenge and we still seem to get four or five deer off of it a year. My best is a 145" with a muzzle loader, not bad for Allen parish. Every year we get plenty of nice bucks on camera but it's tuff to close the deal because of night time movement. The rut is our only hope and late season trying to get them around a food source. We have 6 members and don't preasure it to much and they till move at night most of the time, but that's hunting around here. If you are looking to get on one good luck I don't think many people care anough about bow hunting to have a bow only club. I wish we could get one with about 3 or 4 thousand acrs. Now that would be a good one!!

Bow only clubs are harder to kill deer in than any other club. If you put the number of hunters per acre, generally a bow hunter will cover 4 times the area to locate sign/ hunt on trails/ move around to get closer to deer sightings/ and scout more, just to locate deer sign. Whereas generally most gun hunters tend to stay as stationary as possible due to the range of weapon.
Imo, bow only clubs get more pressure than standard clubs.
I know how I am as a bow hunter, and a turkey hunter. I know the amount of land I can cover in one walk, and if I am scouting for the perfect place to bow hunt I generally dont leave much unturned.
And if I am hunting a spot and see deer moving too far out of bow range, I will move to get closer, as many times as it takes.
So yeh, the idea of bow hunting clubs are a good idea, but the lack of bow hunter pressure imo will yeild more deer...

Several of us in the past have asked about a bow only club, but no luck so far. Let me know if you find anything.

Default Bow only

There are several tracts owed by Roy O Martin timber company in Grant Parish that are bow only. They butt up against subdivisions and are for lease on there web site.
