The 28th of November proved to also be a good day for Michael McMurray of Winnsboro, LA. Michael and a friend went in early that morning to a spot they had scouted earlier in the week. After setting up his stand, Michael saw and a deer coming through the brush at close to 9:30 AM. It was a doe, but not far behind her was a 203″ BTR buck. It didn’t take Michael long to get his rifle shouldered and he put the buck down with his Remington .280.
If that wasn’t enough for you, next month we’ll showcase what the rest of the hunting season will hold in store for the Bayou State. With the rut kicking into high gear around Avoyelles, LaSalle, and many other southern Louisiana parishes, there is no telling how big the largest buck will be. We’ll also get some insight on just why these big deer are falling and what you can do to increase your chances of taking a “deer of a lifetime.” Stay tuned. You won’t want to miss it!
