Since age five, Chet’s been accustomed to anything outdoors. He grew up in Brusly, Louisiana hunting small critters all throughout the sugar cane fields surrounding his home, and eventually progressed to his biggest passion: the whitetail deer. While attending college in Kansas on a baseball scholarship, Chet got a taste of what hunting monster, midwest bucks was all about. After pitching 4 seasons professionally for the St. Louis Cardinal’s Organization, an untimely injury forced Chet to stop playing and return to Louisiana. Once back in the Bayou State, his appetite for the big bucks he’d grown accustomed to never diminished, and a lengthy search for comparable local hunting grounds lead Chet to his current lease in Avoyelles Parish.
Chet has leased these 3000 acres for the last 6 years, and has witnessed several bucks scoring over 150″ B&C come off of his and surrounding property. He attributes this to his lease-cooperative’s member dedication, extensive QDM practice, superior habitat, and naturally endowed genetics of the deer herd. Being in such a blessed environment has afforded Chet the opportunity to study mature bucks and understand their habits, patterns, and movements. He applies these insights to his overall hunting strategy, which has served him well at harvesting numerous beautiful bucks on the property.
