Holding the record for the largest typical buck ever killed in Bienville Parish, Chuck’s 165 1/8″ B&C 10 point pails in comparison to his cumulative accomplishments as a lifelong Louisiana deer hunter. Chuck has harvested a legal limit of 8-point-or-better bucks nearly every year since age 13, most notably 189″ non-typical from Loggy Bayou WMA, a 151″ Bossier Parish 12 point killed on film for Bayou Bucks II, and several Bienville Parish bucks easily surpassing the 140″ B&C mark. Most of these bucks were killed on foot as Chuck slow-stalked young cutovers, and only one of them was harvested on property managed for trophies.
Recently, Chuck has shifted his emphasis from hunting on the ground to permanent stands overlooking long shooting lanes. Switching between a Weatherby 300 and a 7mm STW ensures Chuck a ballistic accuracy out to 400 yards, which he is handily proficient. Chuck’s most recent endeavor involves managing his newly purchased 300 acre Desoto Parish tract of land for trophy racks, limiting himself and guests to mature, 4 1/2 year old bucks sporting 8 points or better.
